 What is clean urban wood waste?

  • Clean wood blocks
  • New and used wood pallets
  • Truss manufacturer cutoffs 
  • Edgings from moulding plant production
  • Wood debris from suburban land clearing
  • Wood debris from building demolition (so long as it is not contaminated by oil, paint and other chemicals, cement or the like!)
  • It can contain nails and screws

 

  CLEAN URBAN WOOD WASTE IS NOT:

  • Chemically treated
  • Concrete covered forms
  • Dirty
  • Oily
  • Decomposed
  • Rotted
  • Heavy-metaled with hinges, spikes and other metal objects.

WHAT ARE OUR HOURS OF OPERATION?

Wood You Recycle! can accept your clean wood waste weekdays from 8:00 a.m.  until 4:00 p.m.     You can set up an appointment by calling our offices at (505) 877-0890.   Speak to our helpful staff for more information.   

DO YOU TAKE OTHER TYPES OF WASTE?

NO!   We do not and can not take other types of waste (in other words, GARBAGE).    Deliveries of garbage  will result in refusal of your load and imposition of a handling penalty.  Clean wood waste is just that -- CLEAN.  Clean wood waste is not contaminated with chemicals, paint, oil or other substances.   It has no glues, binders or fillers.   It is CLEAN.

SO WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU BRING GARBAGE INSTEAD OF WOOD?

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring only CLEAN WOOD WASTE for processing.  

HOW MUCH WILL RECYCLING CLEAN WOOD WASTE COST ME?
Wood You Recycle! charges a processing fee of $.10 per cubic foot – that is right, 10 cents per cubic foot. The average weight of loose loaded pine blocks is about 14 lbs. per cubic foot.  A 40 yard container holds about 1080 cubic feet, or about 7.5 tons. The Albuquerque landfill charges $29.50 per ton to dump your wood waste, or $221.25 .   Thus, we estimate that the same 7.5 ton load will cost you 1080 lbs. X $.10 or only $108.00 if you bring it to Wood You Recycle! for processing.

 

Please understand - it does not matter if you bring us a load in a 40 yard roll off container or in the backseat of your grandmothers ’67 Buick. We can quickly measure the load (the truck/trailer or whatever) and will charge accordingly.  Thus, if the 40 yard container is only half-full, you will pay only $54.00.  Price is based solely on the cubic footage of the load.
